I do not know where in NY they hailed. They had their children there, prior to their move to Michigan. He was 58 yrs old in 1860 and married to Mary who was 53 yrs old (I believe her maiden name to be Lacey). The children listed were: Jacob, 25 yrs old Lansing, 17 yrs old Lucinda, 15 yrs old I found what I believe to be the same family in an 1850 census record for Landstown (?), Jackson County, Michigan. The ages for the children listed above coincide, though they misstated the youngest two children's names (I believe). The census read: William, 49 yrs Mary, 47 yrs Stephen, 20 yrs Jacob, 15 yrs Melissa, 13 yrs Harriet, 10 yrs Hanson, 8 yrs (Lansing?) Florinda, 5 yrs (Lucinda?) The elder daughters likely married and moved out, along with Stephen. This is all I have on my William Decker -- don't know where/how to find him in NY - yet! Am looking for a breakthrough and hope our lines intersect, though the info I've given you may not be enough to know... Here's hoping.
