    3. I happened to see this message. My grandmother was Myrtle Rose Nees. She married James Wesley Decker in Coles County, Illinois in the late 1800's. She was part Cherokee. Is this the same Nees you have referred to and what is the Indian story you refer to? ----- Original Message ----- From: <linander6@yahoo.com> To: <DECKER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 27, 2004 12:38 PM Subject: [DECKER] Re: Mary Decker & Eli Nees > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: neas/Nees/Nehs > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hgR.2ACIB/1462.2.2.1.1.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Hi Kay, > > I have been taking a fresh look at the Nees/Nehs/Neas etc information. > Virtually every descendent branch has this Indian story, so I am sure it > is true.
