I am looking for anyone who can give me more information on a lost branch of the Decker family I am researching. Here is the branch and names as far as I have been able to determine: Descendants of Sylvester Decker 27 Nov 2002 1. Sylvester Decker (b.9 Apr 1836-,Steuben,NY;d.31 May 1905) sp: Lois Whitmarsh (b.Abt 1833-,,NY) sp: Margaret A ------ 2. Bert H Decker (b.1877-,,NY) sp: Anna Tietbohl (b.Apr 1881-,,PA) 3. Frederick Decker (b.17 Aug 1917-,,NY;d.8 Jun 2001-Southwestern VT Med Cnter, Bennington,VT) sp: Eldora ------ Frederick lived near Hoosick Falls, Rensselear Co, NY. Sylvester Decker was a Civil War veteran. He served in the 13th NY Volunteer Infantry for 3 years and had been captured and imprisoned in Virginia during that time. His first wife thought that he had died, perhaps, and put in for a widow's pension. He did not die in 1863. He waited until 1905 and his second wife applied for a contested widow's pension. I do not have the records yet to determine what really went on. Frederick may have a sister Sophie who lives in Staten Island. Thanks to anyone who can help. Carroll Holmes
