TRUDY ELAINE GASKILL b. 9 Jul 1946 Fairmont, Marion Co., WV and d. 15 Mar 1999 Morgantown, Monongalia, WV. married twice. Married unknown DECKER. Married unknown BRESOCK Anyone know more about these marriages?
I would like to find out what the maiden name is of LILLIAN A. DECKER, born April 7, 1920, died January 5, 1997. Resided in New Jersey at one time. Residence was Rolla, Phelps County, Missouri.
Jim, Thank you very much for the link to the Bates volumes on the History of the Pennsylvania Volunteers, 1861-5. I'm looking for more information on one of my many Lancaster County ancestors, John DECKER, (about 1839 - after 1890) found in Manor Township in the census of 1870 and 1880. He married Emma ERISMAN (1845-1887), daughter of Abraham ERISMAN and Catharine MARONE in Feb. 1864. I haven't had much luck so far in locating him or his parents before 1870. Family oral history holds that John Decker served at Gettysburg. However, I haven't found which regiment as yet. This link will be very helpful in my research. Me either. A lot of these Message Boards have been transfered to the Big Guys and it is so hard to find anything anymore! Sorry I couldn't help you. Have been looking for all the children of my husband's 3rd great grandfather (Walter) for 26 years. I know child #4 and #8 but the rest have been very elusive. I know Walter's ancestors and descendants--it's just the other 6 kids that are missing! I tear my hair out, kick the computer and the cat, throw myself on the floor and scream to no avail 8-0 oh well one of these years something will break lose and then the whole USA will hear the cheers! Have a great week. I am looking for anyone who can give me more information on a lost branch of the Decker family I am researching. Here is the branch and names as far as I have been able to determine: Descendants of Sylvester Decker 27 Nov 2002 1. Sylvester Decker (b.9 Apr 1836-,Steuben,NY;d.31 May 1905) sp: Lois Whitmarsh (b.Abt 1833-,,NY) sp: Margaret A ------ 2. Bert H Decker (b.1877-,,NY) sp: Anna Tietbohl (b.Apr 1881-,,PA) 3. Frederick Decker (b.17 Aug 1917-,,NY;d.8 Jun 2001-Southwestern VT Med Cnter, Bennington,VT) sp: Eldora ------ Frederick lived near Hoosick Falls, Rensselear Co, NY. Sylvester Decker was a Civil War veteran. He served in the 13th NY Volunteer Infantry for 3 years and had been captured and imprisoned in Virginia during that time. His first wife thought that he had died, perhaps, and put in for a widow's pension. He did not die in 1863. He waited until 1905 and his second wife applied for a contested widow's pension. I do not have the records yet to determine what really went on. Frederick may have a sister Sophie who lives in Staten Island. Thanks to anyone who can help. Carroll Holmes

On the back of my 2nd greatgrandfather's tombstone, John Bintz, are the names Victoria Decker 1882-1906 Alice Decker 1886 or 1896-1896 My greatgrandfather Nicholas Decker married a daughter of John Bintz, but are not my family. Anyone recognize these names? Robbie Decker
You are welcome. I simply went to http://www.google.com/ and put in key words. You can put in several separated by a / .....like Decker/1800's/ NY and may get some interesting results...if no results, just keep adjust your key words....also when choices come up, click on "cached" and you will get the articles with your key words highlighted.
