Dear Sheila, I am a SC Dean descendant and have some information on the Deans of SC. My ancestor William Dean was born ca 1765. I do not know where or anything about his parents, but he married a Charleston SC girl and was in Rev. in the Charleston area, so there is a chance that his family came into the Charleston area. I have just recently found her family and have not yet researched it. I don't think I have any information that will prove anything for you, but if you can open an Excel spreadsheet, I have a file of Deans from several different researchers who are trying to put all of the Edgefield Co., SC Deans into perspective. With regard to that for all you others who have mentioned Samuel Dean who married Sarah Dunkin who d. March 1850 in edgefield Co.---I was looking for a Holloway ancestor in the 1800 Edgefield Co census today and found on page 176- Samuel Dean 11010-41010 and living next door Richard Duncan 11010-24011. Samuel has a son William according to SandraG627@aol.com that could possibly be my William.
