To interested Dean Descendants: Jedediah Dean b. abt 1720, Essex County, New Jersey, died 17 Nov 1781, New Platz, Ulster, New York. md abt 1739 to Ariontyea Van Winkle, d/o Gideon Van Winkle and Annetje Koemans, of Somerset county, New Jersey. Jedediah Dean left a will in New Paltz Precinct, in which he lists his wife Ariontyea, sons: Gideon, Jedediah, Isaac, Jonathan Sr.), Daniel & Abraham. Daus: Jenny Ellsworth, Elizabeth Wolsey & Mary Laroe. 20 Jul 1781 - 17 Nov 1781. Their son Jonathan Dean (Sr.) md Mary Woolsey and evidently moved with Mary's father Rev. Thomas Woolsey and family to the South Fork of the Holsten River in Washington County, Virginia, bef 1771, where Jonathan Dean is right next door. Elizabeth Dean (above) md Stephen Woolsey (it is thought by some researchers). I am particularly interested in the WOOLSEY family, but would like to complete the families of these DEAN children.
