Glad you finally found her. I think I have found my Shadrick. In a round about way, I have recently been in contact with a person in Monks Courner, SC whos father gave her a book on the history of her Dean family and they go back to the same Shadrick or Shadrack ( wish people could spell the same way all the time) Deen and a Mourning. According to what they have Shadrack and family was attacked by Indians and left for dead and thrown in a ditch. Another party came by and nursed him back to health. He was taken back to Ireland, married, and returned to the United States and spent the rest of his life in America. Anyway he settled in Jackson Co. GA were I found him. He owned land in three counties. The placed where he lived, I believe is in now Gwinnett County and the property he owned in Elbert is now a part of Madison County. They trace their family through his son Shadrack, Jr to a James Deen (3 wives and 20 children) He was born in! KY and his decendants moved across the river in IN and IL. and changed the spelling to Dean. Their dates are a little to early for me.... We'll have to see..... Is there a chance our famillies could now connect with the new people you found? I have collected over the years 20+ family trees files on the Deen/Dean connections and many are on computer files. There is a good chance I can now connect you with someone who is working on the same family. If you like, I would be glad to swap files with you. My file currently has 3,400 names connected. I have Deen/Deans in GA, AL,MS, TN, KY, IN,IL, and TX. I can send and receive a GEDCOM file. My Family Tree Maker file is tooooo large to send by E-Mail. If you want to swap, send me your file and I send mine. I can also look through the other files I have. (trying to put them is some sence of order). Good to hear from you again.........
