Dear Karen et al: There is a new book on the 'Settlers of the Beekman Patent' that I saw at the Rhode Island Historical Society last December. I copied some pages of Deans but not all. However, on page 82 we have Stephen Dean (Nicholas, Jonathan, Samuel) who was born 1 Nov 1724 and m (1) 22 June 1749 Abigail Bowne m (2) ca 1761 Mary Flandreau. On page 82 we find his will was written 5th 10th month 1795 at Oswego and proved 9 Sept 1797. It mentions wife Mary, sons Nicholas, Joseph, Daniel, William, Jonathan, Israel, John, and Lawrence, and daughter Hannah. I do not have pages 84-87. Page 88 has info on the son William saying he died in Iowa. My Deans are also from Dutchess Co NY and I believe I connect to the folks in this book, somewhere, going Samuel > Jonathan > ... eventually to a Daniel Dean who married Elizabeth Leavens.
