My Pennsylvania DEAN's are Jacob (b. ca 1818) and wife Sophia ?? (b. ca 1823). They lived in Armagh Twp., Mifflin Co. in the 1850 & 1860 census. They had children Amos (1841), Simon (ca. 1844), Elizabeth (ca. 1846), Amelia (ca. 1847), Catherine (ca. 1848), Isaac H(arrison?) (ca. 1849), Sarah (ca. 1850), William (ca. 1851), Mary (ca. 1853), Sophia (ca. 1855), Margaret (ca. 1857), and Henry (ca. 1860). I suspect that parents of Jacob could be Valentine & Elizabeth DEAN. In the 1850 census they are in very close proximity to Jacob's family and there is also a Henry DEAN family in the same area who is of a similar age of Jacob. Jacob & Sophia's oldest son, Amos, married a Susan DEAN, also from Pennsylvania, but they married in St. Joseph Co., Michigan following Amos' service in the Civil War.
