Morning all, As part of my project to find all the descendents of Benejah FAY, I'm looking for descendents of the couple above. Unfortunately I know very little of the couple, and very little is verified. I would appreciate any help you could offer. Here is what I know. Sophie FAY was born on May 17, 1800, in New York. Some sources give her state of birth as Massachusetts, but all evidence I have seen points to New York. In 1816, she and her family was the first settlers in what would be known as Parma, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. She married Joseph DEAN on March 18, 1818 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Her marriage was confirmed by a look at the marriage index here in Cuyahoga County. Apparently the couple removed to Michigan, I suspect following other family members who removed there. From an email I received from another FAY cousin, Sophie FAY DEAN died and was buried in Michigan, but she did not know or have a date or location for her. I've not been able to find the Michigan census here locally as of yet, so I do not have any birthdates or birth place for Joseph DEAN. At the moment I also do not know when the couple removed to Michigan. As I mentioned already some of Sophie FAY DEAN's siblings also removed to Michigan. One of her sisters is buried in Troy, Michigan. If you can tie into this couple, I do have the lines of her parents back to the immigrants, which i can freely share. Thanx in advance, Jim SHREVE Sr.
