Dean and parents, Elijah L. and Eliza DEAN, were still living at the time that "Memoirs of Georgia, V. II" was compiled in 1895. According to this source, the father of Elijah L. DEAN was born in VA. He would have died about 1829 somewhere in GA...my guess is Cherokee or Gwinette Co, GA. Elijah L. DEAN was orphaned at the age of 10 and was raised by an uncle. The family moved to Cherokee Co., GA in 1830. Who is the uncle???????
