Henry Clay Dean is said to be a relative of my ancestor Nancy Dean who married James Porter in MD or DE about 1815. If I can find out about his family, maybe I can learn more about her. Henry Clay Dean was born on 27 Oct 1822, some say in Fayette Co, PA He was a Graduate of Madison College in PA 1845 became a Methodist Epicopal preacher in VA 1850 moved to Pittsburg, Van Buren Co, IA Said to have been a chaplain of the US Senate He opposed the Civil War; arrested for "Disloyal utterances" By 1871, he moved to Putnam Co, MO Died in MO on 6 Feb 1887. He was a renowned orator and I guess quite a "character" both in appearance, mannerisms, and outspoken attitudes. Any help with connection to this man's parents, etc. would be appreciated!
