John Dean and Agnes McClenachan Wilson had 8 children. He lived in Bath County, Virginia, and at least two of his daughters were married there. His will in Bath County was contested by the children against his son, William McC. Dean. One of the suits is mentioned in Chalkley's Vol. 2, page 157 in which Andrew McClung and his wife, Jane Dean, John's daughter, filed suit against William. The date of John's birth is not clear because an affidavit by William states that his father was between 80 and 90 when he died. (Chalkley's v. 2, p. 157) I believe that John Dean's father was Adam Dean, but I have no proof. My documentation is pretty solid through most of the children because they are mentioned with their spouses in these law suits. I do not have a record of marriage for Elizabeth Dean, one of the daughters, to James Kincaid, but she is mentioned in relation to James Kincaid in other deeds. Is anyone else researching this line?
