I am searching for parents of Obedience Dean who was born about 1790 in NC and married Jacob Strator in Sumner Co., TN, on 6 Jun 1813. This family lived in Robertson Co. and Sumner Co. TN. She is probably related to Thomas Dean and Margaret McIntosh whose son Elijah was born about 1817. This family lived in Robertson Co., TN. >From the Logan Co., KY Deed Abstracts 1792-1813 by Joyce Martin Murray, I find the following: Page 548 Indenture (Binding out) 20 June 1802 Samuel Caldwell, Clk of Logan Co, binds out Thomas Deen to Ninian Edwards until he is 21 yrs old. He is to be taught to read and right (sic) & common arithmetic including the rule of three, etc. I don't know what if any connection this Thomas Deen had to the TN Dean families, but Logan Co., KY adjoins Robertson Co., TN and did adjoin Sumner Co. until 1819. People moved back and forth from Robertson and Sumner Counties to Logan Co., quite often. Add to that the fact that the state line was in dispute for many years, its wise to consider these counties together. In addition to the McIntosh and Strator families mentioned above, my Bloodworth and Gordon families are connected to this line, and the Taylor, Mason, Burr, and Robey families of Robertson Co are connected as well.
