    1. roll call
    2. Victoria Dean
    3. Hello everyone. It sure would be nice to see everyone's roll call. I am researching a John Deane from Chard, England. He and his brother, Walter came to America around 1633, with or without their parents. They may have settled in Dedham, Mass., then moved to Taunton, Mass. The family name was spelled Den, Dene, Dean, and Deane in England. After Samuel Cleveland Deane, the spelling turned to Dean. John Deane may have been born 1599/1600 or in 1617, Chard South, England. May have died April 25, 1660 in Taunton, Bristol, Massachusetts or in 1727. Parents may have been William Deane and Mrs. William Dean. Wife may have been Alice Strong/Sarah Alice Jeffry. My husband's lineage is as follows..... John Deane abt 1617-1727 Joseph Deane 1682-1721 Faxon Deane b. 1718 Samuel Cleveland Deane 1755-1840 Aaron Weller Dean b. 1803 in NY Charles O. Dean (aka Zach) 1847-1917 Louis Whitwood Dean b. 1876 Arthur Louis Dean 1910-1981 Donald Arthur Dean b. 1937 in OH Mark Douglas Dean b. 1961 in OH Contact me if anything seems interesting to you. 3. Hi Everyone. Although not applying directly to the list I'm sending this inquiry to, it does apply to one of the branches of one of my wife's family lines for which I do not believe there is a list. Does anyone have the following source ( or know where I might be able to obtain it) ? SMITH, LEONARD H., JR., and NORMA H. SMITH. Nova Scotia Immigrants to 1867. Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co., 1992. 546p. I am searching for the annotation therein for on George FANCY, who is listed on page 340. I am looking for his date and port of arrival or date and place of mention in the New World, place of origin, birth date, occupation, reference to original source, and other genealogical information which may also be provided in this source. I hope someone can help with this. Thanks. The Reverend Wayne Dean Sr.

    1. Homer DEAN
    2. B. Rush Roets
    3. In the last paragraph you will find a Homer DEAN. Hope this will give some one a thread to locating a connection. Barb in Kansas All from Crawford Co PA - various dates/years Submitted by: Patricia Butterfield Vedner http://www.toolcity.net/~vedner ********** Mr. & Mrs. Linn O. Slayton were the victims of a very pleasant surprise at their home on Saturday evening, the occasion being the 25th anniversary of their marriage. About 60 relatives and neighbors were present, the visitors bringing material from which a bountiful supper was served. Many gifts in silver were left the couple as remembrances of the anniversary. Their daughters, Misses Margaret, Mildred and Minyon, who are employed in Meadville, were home for the occasion, making a family reunion. The couple were married and have spent their wedded life in Conneautville. Merle Willey, aged 8 years, son of Mr. & mrs. Elmer Willey of Lyona, in eastern Crawford, was killed Monday afternoon by being dragged over a quarter of a mile by a frightened horse. Mr. Willey was at work in the woods on his place and was accompanied by his little boy. When the father finished work, he started for home and the little fellow wanted to ride the horse to the barn. Mr. Willey lifted the boy to the horse's back and the boy started off. He had not gone far, however, before the horse started to play and the boy fell off. His foot caught in the harness, frightening the horse, who ran to the barn dragging the helpless lad with him. Mr. Willey was unable to overtake the horse, and when he reached the barn and released his son, the little fellow was breathing his last. The child's neck was broken, his skull fractured and his body was terribly mangled. The Summerhill township schools made an excellent showing at the 8th grade examinations held at the close of the school year. Out of a class of 23, all but four passed. The successful pupils were: Marshall Sproul, Homer Dean, Arthur Olson, Dorothy chase, Mable Doutt, Gertrude Troche, Robert Mason, Lulu Wing, David Benedict, Margaret Benedict, Myron Benedict, Wilds Walrath, Carl Garwood, Hazel Butterfield, Ida Smith, Emory Matthews, Hazel Abercrombie, Mable Shearer and Doris Hites. The examination committee was made up of the following teachers: Ida McDowell, Francis Lord, Winnie Kuhn, and Niles Bartholomew.
