John Dean, Sr born 1759 in Virginia he married: Elizabeth Minton in about 1783, and also married Rebecca Dean in about 1833. John and Elizabeth's children: Margaret Dean Nancy Dean Nathaniel P. Dean John W. Dean, Jr (my line) he was born around 1785 in Georgia and died about 1848 in Arkansas. John W. Dean,Jr. married Martha Harrison and their children were Benjamin P. Hello list subscribers: Begging for any crumbs on this family and will try to be brief: Zebulon and Asahel DEANS born ca 1770-1775 CT. Zebulon married Olive Crocker and Asahel married Huldah Crocker (Asahel married at Bozrah CT 1797); both daughters of Thomas Crocker and Sarah Vibber. Brothers moved to Bridgewater Susquehanna Co. PA about 1800-1806. Zebulon died there and Asahel appears to have left ca 1820. If I have the right Asahel, he appears next in Ulysses Tompkins Co. 1820 census. After some blanks, Asahel is found 1850 census Elmira Chemung Co. where he died before 1860. Had several children and I can only name Emily who married ca 1829 Timothy Smith of Seneca Co. NY. Asahel seems to have a second wife by then whose name is Polly (unknown). ANYTHING regarding these names would be of interest to me. Would be happy to share my file. Thanks for any help. Jessie was born 23 Feb 1866 and Ida Alice was born 25 Sept 1871. They were married 25 Sept 1888. Their daughter, Emma Priscilla Dean born 5 Sept 1889 in Belleville, Yell Co. AR. My line of Deans go from Isaac Dean who lived in Taunton, MA, wife, Theodora Robinson. They moved to Grafton Co., NH, ca. 1780s. Son, Hosea, found in SW Ohio in 1810s when he married Leah Voorhies. Lived in Warren Co., OH, bought land in Montgomery Co., IN 1820s. They lived there until about 1850 when they moved to Marshall Co., IA. He died 1851; his son Hosea J. Dean married Rebecca Ketcham in Montgomery Co., In and they moved with his parents to Marshall Co., IA. Need information about this family in NH. Winifred in Houston

Would appreciate any help I can get on William Wilton DEAN. I'm told he is my great grandfather but I have no documentation of him and have been unable to locate any. The story goes that he came from Indiana or Kansas and was born abt. 1873. He married?? Gertrude Tomy "Gertrude" CHANDLER and had several offspring. Your welcome, Peggy. Hopefully I can find a connection to my Dean! James Harris Dean born 1832 in NY married Eliza Jane (?) born 1837. They were probably married in NY state before 1860. They had at least two children, Lucius born in NY around 1860 and Ellsworth (my great grandfather) also in NY April 5 1863. Both sons were teachers in Crawford County PA. The family first appears in the census for Crawford County, PA in 1880. Ellsworth attended Edinboro Normal school in Edinboro PA. He taught for a while and then became a preacher for the ME church. He married Maude (?), born 1864, in PA. They were married in 1884 in Bloomfield,(?) She died in Onoville, Crawford County,PA in 1901. Ellsworth and Maude had the following children. Nellie born 1884 Clella born 1886 (married a Filby) Cynthia (my grandmother) born 1889 Madge born 1891 Stanley born 1895 Olive born 1897. one of the other girls married a Taylor of Pennsboro, W.VA, but I don't know which one. There is also a mention of a Walter Dean I think from Union City PA in the obituary...I don't know the connection. Cynthia married Walter Carter and I am the daughter of their son Donald. Ellsworth died in 1946 in Corry, Erie County, PA. The obituary mentions Stanley being in Buffalo, MO at the time. Any assistance with this family and it's ancestry would be greatly appreciated...I've hit dead ends all over. Looking for information on my gg-grandfather, W. John Dean, born Georgia (county unknown) July 1852. Moved to Texas 1889-1900. Widowed by 1900 w/ children Pauline Dean, Lawrence Farrell Dean, and Walter Luther Dean in Grimes County, Texas. Also with them a widowed sister-in-law, Elizabeth Charity Dollar (born October 1850).
