I am looking for ancestors of Richard Dean born abt 1533 Halifax Yorks, Eng. who married Margaret GREENWOOOD born Oct 4 1545. They had daughter Maria DEAN born 1579 Wadsworth, Yorks, Eng. She married Abraham STANSFIELD Feb 23 1625 in Wadsworth Yorks, Eng. Carolyn Nelson
Whoa! My grandmother was named Bertha DEAN...however the timing is not correct. I KNOW that she was born 1901 in Southern Missouri or Kansas to the elusive William ?Wilton? DEAN. Does this William DEAN show up in any of your records? Perhaps my g.mother was named after this Bertha. Since my g.mother was never able to get a birth certificate because of no documentation, even though this is a long shot...worth the effort. Gertrude "Tomy" CHANDLER was married to William DEAN and believe divorced (never proven) because Gertrude re-married a preacher. Any chance you have the name William DEAN and give me a direction? Hi listers, I have been searching for my Dean ancestors in parts of post-Revolutionary War Pennsylvania for about five years. I finally decided that if I were ever going to make any sense out of the confusing piles of information I have collected I was going to have to organize it in some way. So I compiled most of what I have into a research paper titled "What I Know and What I Dont Know About the Dean Families of South-central and Other Parts of Pennsylvania, About 1780 to 1810." The chapter headings are as follows: 1. William and Jane Dean of Allegheny County (removed to Crawford County, Pennsylvania) 2. Matthew and Rebecca Dean of (now) Catharine Township, Blair County (his wife and children were massacred by Indians) 2a. John Dean, the surviving son of the above Matthew Dean 3. John Dean of Morris Township, Huntingdon County (the brother of the above Matthew Dean) 4. John and Deborah Dean and Alexander and Anne (Hamilton) Dean (and other Dean-s, all in or near the Borough of Huntingdon, Huntingdon County) 5. Jacob and Nancy (Loveall) Dean of (now) Cass Township, Huntingdon County (and Jacobs sons Jonathan, Zachariah and Enoch) 6. John and Anne (Isset) Dean of (now) Union Township, Huntingdon County (and Johns brothers Samuel and Thomas; John removed to the Raystown Branch) 7. William Dean of (now) Penn Township, Huntingdon County (original warrantee of land on the Raystown Branch) 8. William and Martha (McNutt) Dean of Peters Township, Franklin County (killed in Revolutionary War, widow removed to Westmoreland Co., then to Indiana Co.) 9. Samuel and Martha (Camp) Dean of Cumberland County (Revolutionary War soldier, removed to Fayette County) 10. Robert Dean of Allegany County, Maryland (Revolutionary War pensioner) The paper is a 25-page document prepared in MSWord. I would be happy to send it as an attachment to an e-mail message to anyone who is interested. If you want only parts of the paper, I can do that too. Larry Dean Vancouver, WA, USA

Just found out they were my ggrandparents from my dad's uncle's SSDI application. I'm assuming they would have been married around 1890s?-early 1900s since Uncle Orrie was born in 1908.
