I am looking for Fredrick Dean/Deen who is listed living with his son, Jahue Peter Dean, in the 1850 Heard Co. GA census and again the 1860 Troup Co. GA census. He died in Troup Co. in 1862. I am trying to tie him with a spouse other children and any parents. I will share all J. Peter info with all who are interested.
Thanks to Nancy for that list of epidemics that may have taken some of our ancestors. The information is invaluable. Doris
Sam Houston was not at the Alamo; he was in charge of the Texian troops in other parts of the state. What makes you believe you are from his line? That info might be more helpful to anyone who could assist you. Ann in San Antonio A rootsweb.com donor

In case you ever wondered why a large number of your ancestors disappeared during a certain period in history, this might help. Hi there Deaniee babies, I am looking for the parents, siblings and other ancestors of Rhoda DEAN. She was born in 1783 in Jaffrey, NH. She married Benjamin FLANDERS in Hanover, NH in 11/1802 and they moved to his hometown, MT Holly, VT, about 1804 where they both died there, she in 5/26/1867. The only possible lead I had was Thomas DEAN of NH but I can find no connection yet. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Happy Hunting! Seeking clues or any information on an Emily Dean, who married Jesse BIHM in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana in 1857. The earliest record I have thus far located on her is an appearance with Jesse's older brother, John Beam (Bihm), and his family in the 1850 St. Landry Census. Emily's age is given as 18 and born in Ireland. John's wife, Mathilda Beam, age 27 and also born in Ireland. (Emily perhaps sister or cousin of Mathilda?) The Bihm's daughter, Clara, is aged 3 and born in LA. John Beam is aged 30 and he, too, is born in LA on the 1850 Census. The Bihm family (German ancestry) appears in LA records in the 178O's, so unlike Emily and Mathilda, they were not newcomers. I have no idea how these two Irish females came to be in southwest Louisiana in, and a little before, 1850. Any Ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks! John Gaudin
does anyone have any information on above, he was born in Frankfort, N.Y.?
Hi Dawn, Oklahoma began keeping death records in 1908. J. H. Luna died in 1951 so a death certificate should be available in the county where she died and is buried. Also, if you know the month and day she died you can search for an obituary from a newspaper that serviced Atwood. The sexton for her cemetery may have records showing who owned her burial plot and who was her next of kin. Arkansas began birth and death records in 1914 so we may assume she was already married by 1914. By 1951 she may have had a social security number so you could write for her application. The application form has birth date and parents name. Also see if she left a will naming her heirs. That should be in the county courthouse. There may be an amended birth certificate which was required for a relative to certify the place of and date of birth when no original birth certificate existed. Let us know if you have any luck. Well, this may be a coincidence, but NBD51 has a Mary Elizabeth Zellars born 1920, married to a Darnell. I just came from her web page. I have a Mary Naomi Zellars born July 6, 1834, Georgia, married to Thomas Pinckney Dean, son of Edward & Margaret Cole Dean both born SC. My Margaret E Dean ( brother to Thomas )married James M Darnell in Palmetto, Ga. My Mary Naomi Zellars was the daughter of Solomon & Emily Tatom Zellars of Palmetto. Solomon & Emily are buried in the Zellars Family Cemetery or Floral Hill Cem. Hoping yours were from Ga. There have to be some ties here somewhere. Linda
I don't remember if I have already ask about this name or not so I am trying again :-) I am trying to find any information on Judah (could be Juda, Judith, Judy) Dean....she was born in 1876 and died in 1951....The only name on her gravestone is J. H. Luna...She married Andrew C Luna in Searcy Co. Arkansas and is buried in Atwood, Oklahoma. She had a son in 1910 who died at the age of 9. the son's name was Shelby G. She also had many other children and one is our father (Jewel Luna) If any one can help me I would really appreciate it. I am at a lost. I have checked the census and looked for a marriage license both with no luck....If anyone knows what my next step could be I would appreciate it. I do know that her father was a tobacco farmer but do not know where he farmed or what his name was. Thank you so much, Dawn Luna Okc, Ok
