J. July 3, 1900: The big sidewheel steamer, New Brunswick, which is to make four trips daily between Cape May and Lewes, Delaware, to connect with the Queen Anne Railroad, made its first trial trip from Lewes this afternoon and arrived at Cape May at 1 P.M. The pier at this end is not yet completed and no attempt was made at landing, the trip being made to ascertain only the navigable qualities of the three channels. On board this trip were pilots T. P. Hughes, Samuel Schellenger and Harry Hand of Cape May, in addition to the ship owner F. D. Gullupe.
