Some distinguished men of Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania have been seen this week climbing over the great stone piles for some boyish recreation with rod and line. In one evening Samuel Prettyman and his son, James Prettyman, caught 5112 of these fine fish, but they were using nets, which is not the finest sport. The Prettymans caught 512 of the fish in two lifts of a gill net while 4500 were bagged in twice hauling their haul seine. Some of these fish were prize winners in size. Lewes resident, State Auditor P. B. Norman, is an expert croaker fisher. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ DE-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
