In the meantime, Rev. Mr. Williams was on hand for the first prayer meeting after the summer vacation. No one attended and after he had waited for some time he went home without the meeting. Today investigation disclosed the fact that someone had wrapped the church bell with cloths and while the sexton, old and deaf, had pulled the pull rope as accustomed the bell had made no sound.
