Article Text: Wilmoington, Del., Sept 23: Lewes expects that within a short period of time a fort will be erected at that place by the government for the protection of Philadelphia and other cities on the Delaware River. For several days two War Department engineers have been in Lewes looking over lsnd. They stated that it was the purpose of the government, in the near future, to establish forts at the entrance to the bay. The most suitable site appeared to be one between Cape Henlopen Light and the Marine Hospital already owned by the government.
