WETHERBEE, of Dover, will be buried in that town tomorrow. Wetherbee was a cobbler who made considerable money and had lately lived a retired life. Fifteen years ago his wife died. He had her buried in Silver Lake Cemetery and also dug his own grave beside her. The grave was covered with a monument on which was her name and the date of her death. He had also cut the name of himself, the time of his birth and all which he wished placed there except the date of his death. He made it a point to attend every funeral which was held in Dover, generally occupying a place in one corner of the galley of the church where services were held so that he might look down at the corpse. He was 84 years old. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ DE-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news! TM http://www.NewspaperAbstracts.com
