Article Text: Dover, Del., Oct 19, 1901 The reformers who have been at work to prevent the relicensing of well known Sussex county hotels have not succeeded in keeping the old seafaring town of Lewes dry for another year but have driven out liquor from Millsboro. Remonstrances had been filed against EDWARD T VEASEY, the Virden House and JEFFERON L. FORD, the Rodney house, but when sifted, the evidence against them was not sufficient to support the remonstrances. The attack was therefore abandoned and the hotels relicensed. MARTIN W. SHOCKLEYS, the Millsboro liquor dealer, withdrew his application rather than stand the fight in open court. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ DE-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
