Article Text: Lewes, Del., Dec 3, 1912: The body of HENRY RODNEY, a wealthy man killed in Paris in falling from a train, was brought to Lewes today for burial. Rodney was a native of Lewes. The remains reached New York on the steamer Savoie on Sunday, from Havre. Rodney, while in the first class compartment of a railway car near Paris, France, he leaned on the unfastened door which opened and he was pitched to the platform of a station. His body was interred in Paris until relatives in this county could be notified. Interment was made in St Peter's Episcopal Churchyard, Lewes, today in accordance with his wish. While the grave was being dug in a congested part of the cemetery yesterday, the resting place of Captain James Drew was unearthed. It was directly over the chancel foundation of the very first ancient St. Peters church. Drew was drowned in 1798 off Cape Henlopen when his ship, The DeBrack, was lost with a fortune in treasures. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ DE-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
