Because of the circumstances it is almost impossible to get the facts for a legal prosecution and it very possible the man will never be arrested. For some time it has been known by the grapevine that whiskey could be purchased on Lewes Beach. although several searches have been made and several warrents issued the men involved have each time got away and houses searched have yielded no clues. Last week, according to information haltingly revealed by the victims, whiskey was sold for $5 a quart and the news went out in all directions. Automobile from all sections slipped down to the beach in the night and some bought as much as a dozen quarts, all guaranteed good whiskey. Many never even tasted the stuff they bought but those who did found it to be good liquor. Upon reaching their homes, after it is claimed that over five hundred bottles were so! ld, it was found that there was only about two inches of real whiskey in the bottles, a false bottom of hardened pariffine was holding back the rest of the contents, which was water.
