The captain and two men were thrown into the ice cold water and were in danger of drowniing when rescued by Captain Johnson's crew of men from the Life Station. The Lewes shirt factory is badly handicapped by a lack of girls to work sewing uniforms for the war. Fifty girls of the town have been asked to work as a war aid.
