Many of the Old Guard were in attendance, No commubity can boast of a prouder heritage than these families whose ancestors antidate Revolutionary times. Miss Anna R. Nichols, curator of the Zwaanendael Museum, celebrated her birthday with a small dinner party on New Years Eve. Her nephew, Lt. Commander William Penuel Tammany, USN, now on duty in Philadelphia, spent some time with his aunt, Miss Nichols, and his mother, Mrs Roman Tammeny.
