B. Schellenger, a Delaware River waterman, entertained the society of Deers, of Philadelphia, at his home in Lewes. The Deers came from Cape May in the pilot boat Edmunds and were met by teams, which carried them to the home of Mr. Schellenger, where they were served with an old fashioned Lewes dinner, consisting of clam chowder, soft crabs, broiled chicken, tomato salad, ice cream, cake, coffee and cigars. The Philadelphia members were, John Galen, T. Goldsmith, Mart Friel, Louis Rein, Thomas P. O'Connelly, Joseph D. Poul, Dr. Hebenger and Jacob Evenie. The Lewes members who were present were James Rowland, Jr., Thomas R. Norman, James K.
