The light itself is a white vapor light, flashing at intervals of twelve seconds, with a red sector showing to the southeastward, giving warning of the Hen and Chickens shoals. Instead of burning oil, this lamp burns a mixture of oil vapor and air, which gives a very brilliant light. It is the only light of its kind in the district and is expected to make a good showing. The fog horn and submarine bell have not yet been placed in position, but the house itself and light are now complete.
