The toad was found still alive when employees ripped out the block recently while repairing the foundation. ANDREW HOFFER , chief engineer said the toad was "crusty, numb and almost flat", but soon began to swell up when exposed to air. Hoffer said he kept it several hours in a milk bottle and fed it on grasshoppers.
