Church. Among the prominent personages seated on the stage with the graduates were Secretary and Mrs. Fairchild, Mr. and Mrs. Rose Fish, Superintendent Cook, ex-Trustee W. H. Smith, Miss Lucy E. Moten, principal of the school, and her assistants, Misses Carrie L. Wilder and Ada C. Hand, and W. H. Brooks. The address to the graduates was delivered by Rev. Dr. T. G. Steward, former pastor of the Church, and Commissioner Webb, assisted by Secretary Fairchild who developed the diplomas to the following 89 graduates: Normal School: Amaleta Alexander Ann L. B. Young The exercises were interspersed with choice selections by the Marine Band under the directorship of Prof. Sousa.
