Cook has filed a motion to modify the order obtained lately by this wife, Mary V. Cook, in the divorce case pending between them. The alteration sought is to give him charge of the children, the alimony and counsel fees to remain as fixed by the court. The motion will be heard next Saturday in the Equity Court. The following citizens of the District have received patents: William T. Duvall, brick machine; Thomas O. Selfridge, U.S.N., wood boring machines; Perry W. Whitcomb, stocking dryers and stretchers; Erastus M. Chapin, sewer cleaning devices; and William D. Doremus, bottle stoppers. Voluntary petitions in bankruptcy were filed in the office of the Clerk of the Court yesterday by the following businessmen of this city: Charles T. Smith, carpenter, with liabilities of $6,563; Frank H. Fall, butcher; and Thomas M.
