Col EDWARD J. CHAISTY died suddenly at his home this morning of apoplexy, in the same house in which he was born on October 31, 1841, living in it all his life. He bore a marked resemblance to former Gov. WARFIELD. He was educated at Calvert Hall College and engaged in mercantile life from1859 to 1867. He was appointed by the supreme bench as crier to the criminal court under the late Judge ROBERT GILMORE. He served in that capacity until 1882. Col CHAISTY got his military tile under the late Senator WILLIAM PINKNEY WHYTE, governor of Maryland, who appointed him as chief of his staff in 1873. Hagerstown, Feb 20. Mrs. ANN ELIZABETH BESORE, widow of JEREMIAH BESORE, one of the oldest residents of Washington County, died of heart disease today while sitting in a chair at the home of her daughter, Mrs. MARTIN HOOVER, near Smithsburg, aged 92. GEORGE BESORE, of Smithsburg, is her son. Bedford, Feb 20. Mrs. SARAH H. BEAGLE, wife of Mr. CHARLES D. BEAGLE, detective on the Pennsylvania railroad, died at her home here yesterday of apoplexy.
