His subject was "Ideals." "It is the striving for the ideal that is the key to success," he said. The commencement was held in the school assembly hall and was presided over by John B. Larner of the board of education. The invocation was by the Rev. John Van Shaick, jr. Mrs. Susie Root Rhodes, also a member of the board, conferred the diplomas. The high school orchestra played.
