E. L. Hawks. Maj. Erasmus Lamar HAWKS, 68 years old, for many years a resident of Washington, died yesterday morning at the Hotel Martinique, New York, of pneumonia. He, who was in New York on business, had only been ill for a couple of days. His wife was with him. Born at Elmira, N. Y., Maj. HAWKS served three years in the civil war. When the war with Spain started he joined the volunteer forces and served through the Cuban campaign. About 25 years ago he came to this city to engage in the real estate business. Maj. HAWKS, who resided at the Baltimore apartments, in Wyoming avenue, is survived by his wife and two daughters, Miss Alys and Consuelo HAWKS. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
