Goodridge has filed a petition for a divorce from her husband, Fred R. Goodridge, through her solicitor, R. G. Murray. They were married on December 7, 1873, in this city. She charges that about 6 weeks after the marriage he beat her and began cruelly treating her, throwing books, pokers, etc., at her. He also was guilty of adultery. Elizabeth Schwier filed a bill for divorce from Henry Schwier, through her attorney, William T. Bailey. The parties were married in this city in April 1842. They have lived together for 33 years and have had 8 children, five of whom are married and have children. She charges that the old man has lately "gone wrong," and has since 1876 committed various acts of adultery.
