Hagerstown, Md., April 4. - Mayor Frank N. FAHRNEY has named the following appointees, all Republicans, and all confirmed by the Republican city council; City clerk, Henry FAVIS; city attorney, Alexander R. HAGNER; city engineer, John B. FERGUSON; market inspector, Harry McCRORY; chief fire marshal, George B. ALEXANDER. ALEXANDER, who is a councilman, under a ruling by City Attorney HAGNER that he could legally hold both offices, voted for his own confirmation as fire marshal.
