    3. If she died in Santa Fe, NM then it is more likely you would find an obituary there. If you think there was one in DC then you might want to contact a librarian in DC for assistance with old newspapers, or go to an LDS library and check microfilms. Or you might want to just start checking with cemeteries in DC. The 1900 census should help you confirm whether or not her husband was still living at that time. 1. [DC-Obits] Martha H. Sullivan/1905
    2. Michele/Steve Heiderer
    3. Seeking an obit or other information on Martha H. Sullivan who died in DC on October 10, 1905. I have census records for her for 1870. 1880 and 1900. She left one son, David H. Sullivan, and was residing with her daughter-in-law Emma Holliday (perhaps Halliday) in 1900 in DC. I thought I had found David H. Sullivan married and living in Missouri, but according to family trees on Ancestry, this person's parents are not Martha Sullivan and her husband, Elijah Sullivan. Elijah Sullivan either died by the mid 1870s or deserted Martha and her two sons; she placed the son born in 1872 for adoption by 1875. David, the older son, was on his own by 1880 (age 20/22 approximately). Michele

    2. D Clark
    3. Dear Listers, I would appreciate a lookup in the DC obituaries for the year 1977. Gertrude Harmening may have died at the DC General Hospital during that year. She was born in England in 1918 and married to an American serviceman, Fred Harmening in 1944. I need a dod to request a death certificate (SSI does not have her info). I do not have a last residential address for her...however, she lived in the DC area for many years in various places. Her spouse was at Andrews AFB. The family lived in Camp Springs and Suitland, MD and Arlington, VA. Many thanks in advance for any help on this. Dawna Clark

    1. [DC-Obits] Cameron, Hayes & Beall obits
    2. Michael Sellers
    3. I'm looking for obituaries for the following family members: Martha J. (Ryder) Cameron Martha F. (Cameron) Beall Kitura A. (Cameron) Hayes Squire A. Cameron Martha J. (Ryder) Cameron was the mother of the three children listed above; Martha F., Kitura, and Squire.  A death notice in "The Washington Times" places Martha J. (Ryder) Cameron's death as being on December 22, 1906. Squire A. Cameron appeared on the 1900 Census in Washington, D. C. as age 55 and living in the household with his mother and sister, Kitura.  He does not appear on any subsequent census.  I'm assuming then that he died after 1900 but prior to 1910 in Washington, D.C.  I really apologize that I don't have more to go on concerning Squire. Martha F. (Cameron) Beall was listed on the 1920 Census for Washington, D. C. as age 64.  I don't know when she died, but it was after 1920 and in Washington, D. C. Kitura A. (Cameron) Hayes was first married to Thomas Montgomery and had a son, Elmer F. Montgomery, in Indiana in Feb. 1881.  Thomas had died by 1900, and Kitura married again to Alfred Hayes between 1910 & 1920.  She is found on the 1920 Census in Washington, D. C. as age 62, but I don't know when she died. I apologize that I don't have more specifics to go by towards hunting down their obits ... but that's part of the reason why I'm looking for them and requesting the obits.  Any help at all towards finding their obits, death notices, etc. would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Michael Sellers

    3. I can't find an obit, but he is in the 1930 census listed with an occupation of Messenger at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. Perhaps they would have some records on him. I know the privacy laws today make obtaining info difficult, but any sibling can get info so if any are still alive perhaps you could ask them for help. ----- Original Message ----- From: efritter To: DC-OBITS@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, March 31, 2008 9:53 PM Subject: [DC-Obits] John (E) FRITTER Obit According to SSDI he died Mar 1981 with a last residence of D.C. I realize I dont have much to go on, but he is my uncle and I have never met him. Only knew four of his brothers (one my dad) and his two sisters.
