    3. Hello All, Still looking for a lead on the DAVIES family. My G-G-Grandfather on my mothers side came to LONDON from WALES with his family, date unknown, but must have been late 1700 early 1800,they were tailors and set up business in that trade, I am told by my 90 year old Mum, that they also Bred Silkworms, did they get silk from these silkworms and make cloth, ? I am not sure on this. G-Grandfather moved to Haslemere SRY area and is understood to have Managed a Brickworks, his name was THOMAS DAVIES. D.O.B. etc unknown Another of the same family also came to Haslemere and Managed a Braid Works at Sicklemill, the braid was used I understand on Military Uniforms. Name unknown. My G.Father B; 1883 who was also THOMAS DAVIES was a Brickmaker by trade,he also came to Haslemere, this is where he settled and married ELIZA DURRANT from KIRDFORD SSX B:1885, date of marriage not known. They did live in several houses arond the HASLEMERE SRY / CAMELSDALE / LINCHMERE SSX areas, one cottage was Rats Castle, Hammer Lane, Linchmere. The remainder of thier lives were spent in Sunvale Avenue, Shottermill HASLEMERE,SRY. Any help on finding more about this family would be most welcomed. Thanks............ Rob Baker.
