My grandfather Arthur Davies Cassidy, Born 10 November, 1916 , 28 Joynston street, Broughton, Salford, mothers name Annie Cassidy. No fathers name is given. On the1914/15 electrol roll for Joynston street shows a Richard Davies. There waer no electrol rolls during war but in the 1917 trade directory there is still listed at Richard Davies at that address. I dont think women were included on the electrol roll back then, hence no Annie. It seems a coinsidence that Arthurs middle name is Davies (not David). I might be totally wrong but I think there is a connection!. Whether this Richard is the same as yours I don't know, what do you think?
