Hi there :-)! I hope someone had better luck then I , on finding your William, as there were over 800 of them in England on the 1881 census :-)!!! I put in for a two- year leeway, up & down & checked for Manchester & Ashton, this one William, (with the Mom being a Widow ,was the only possible match. With the names of the other Davies/Davis fathers, there were no Josephs. There was one boy who was in jail, so nothing else on him. Do you have any idea on Mom's name, occupations or siblings names ?
