My greatgrandfather, born Thomas Davies, 1853 in Wales is my brick wall. He immigrated to Catasauqua and married my greatgrandmother, Hannah Philips, born abt 1857 England married abt 1880-85 Catasauqua. I know nothing more about them. Here the mystery deepens: They had a son, Thomas Davies, b. 1/20/1885, Catasauqua. He was adopted or "taken in" by Oscar Levi and Minnie Sue Strohl after they married in 1894. Oscar Levi Strohl was from Millport, Lower Towamensing Twp, Lehigh Co. near Catasauqua. and Minnie Sue Frank Strohl was born in Freemansburg, and after marriage, they lived in Bethlehem. The original Thomas Davies and Hannah Davies disappear. No idea where or why they went, or why they put up son for adoption. I sure hope that we can make a connection.
