I am tracing family history but haven't got too far yet. My grandfather was George Davies who married Mary Thomas of Carmarthen in early 1900's. As a child I remember hearing that his family were from Devon and connected to the sea. I even heard his father was a sea captain (weren't they all?) I have applied for my grandparents marriage certificate (hope I have the right one) and will be in touch again if there is any more to tell.
