He was probably the son of David O. Davies (b. Wales, abt. 1841) and Ann/Anna Alban (b. OH, abt. 1836). The family is listed in the 1880, Washington Twsp., Van Wert Co., OH Census: wife Anna, 44, OH/Wales/Wales; Thomas, 15, OH; Evan, 13, OH; John, 11, OH; Mary, 9, OH, Alben, 7, OH; David, 6, OH. Ann Davies, his mother, was Ann/Anna Alban who's family probably emigrated from S. Wales to Jackson Co., OH in the 1840's. Alban Davies m. Harriet Hughes Hughes, the daughter of Edward Hughes (b. abt 1845, Wales) and Mary Hughes (b. abt 1949, OH) who lived at Venedocia, Van Wert Co. Any information on this family would be helpful.
