If this was her that would make her 20/21 when Beatrice was born.
Good morning list, I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has seen the above name in anything at all either in England (Wakefield area) or NSW Australia. The H. stands for Horace Vincent DAVIES b June q 1908 Wakefield England son of William DAVIES and Clara LODDER (EDWARDS). William was a Dentist by trade. Have no age for him as to when he was born or got married. Clara had been married before to a William LODDER and had a daughter Clara.G C. LODDER b March q 1901 Sculcoates England. Horace DAIVES went to NSW sometime between 1908-1939. His stepsister Clara has also been found in NSW so whether they all went to NSW as a family or separately we are not sure. Horace Vincent DAVIES always signed documents as H.Vincent DAVIES and in 1939 married Heather NORGROVE in NSW Australia. He was a business owner and lived in Ewart Street Marrickville. Has anyone come across this line of DAVIES?? Please help me someone, lol!! Waiting with fingers crossed. Alison Hill Cambridge, NZ -- No virus found in this outgoing message. The only information that I have is that she got married to a gentleman named Arthur Wood and had my wife's nan Beatrice Mary Wood on 4th Feb 1914. According to my wife's nan's birth certificate she was born at Coventry Charterhouse Mills. If anyone had any suggestions on how to trace her parents I would be eternally grateful. Kind regards Paul

There is of course the 1837/38 Robert and mary, his parents, which I have less detail on. That was rather quirky in that Robert Davies married Mary Davies in both cases. If it helps you and I dont have a problem with it, you can email direct peter_davies.org@btinternet.com This is in fact the first response I have had from the ancestry.com posting so I have forgotten what details I put, and of course it may not mention my web site http://www.peter-davies.org kindest regards, peter

Lynda, Your hotmail address bounced for me. Anyway, you'll probably need to take a look for yourself - www.familysearch.com - since you're more familiar than I am with the family details. But, I did a quick check on the LDS site for a William Davies in England, the year 1881, with father Joseph and came up with 155 records. I did a quick "find" for "Ashton" and came up with this possibility (His was No. 87 of the 155 records that came up with the above search info), there may have been others. I just didn't have time to play. L Joseph DAVIES Head M Male 43 Ashton On Mersey Farmer 40 acres Employing 3 Men 2 Women 1 Boy Anne DAVIES Wife M Female 42 Ashton On Mersey Elizabeth A. Hi there :-)! I hope someone had better luck then I , on finding your William, as there were over 800 of them in England on the 1881 census :-)!!! I put in for a two- year leeway, up & down & checked for Manchester & Ashton, this one William, (with the Mom being a Widow ,was the only possible match. With the names of the other Davies/Davis fathers, there were no Josephs. There was one boy who was in jail, so nothing else on him. Do you have any idea on Mom's name, occupations or siblings names ?
