Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.co.uk/mbexec/msg/5538/HNR.2ACEB/1359 Message Board Post: My Father Stanley was born in 1920 at 3 Park view Nantyglo. (Died 1974 Enfield, Middlesex)Father:Thomas Francis Davies, born 1862 in Alderney, died 1925 Blaina , Mother: Annie Johnson: died in London 1959.(Married in Bedwas 1915) Thomas' first wife was Martha Jones from Garnfach. I have traced Thomas and Martha back to the 1871(43 Garn Cross)and 1901 census, they lived in Highfield Cottages Blaina with their 6 children and a cousin. According to a recently discovered relative, Stanley tried to blow up a safe in the Nantyglo/Blaina co-op and was sent away to reform school?? early 1930s. He returned to Blaina then left to serve in WW2. Other family members include, Fred, Joseph (Joe), William (Bill), Elizabeth, Harriet. I think Park View still exists - I would love to know if it still does. The family left Park View after the death of Thomas - poverty forced them to move to accomodation above a public house ?? (hearsay only) in Blaina village. I would love to hear from anyone ! who has any information on this family. My father died when I was only 13 and I have no knowledge of his early life. I hope someone can help.

    1. DAVIES OF LIVERPOOL
    2. sylvia hughes
    3. Hi, I'm new to this list but subscribe to many others. I have recently discovered a connection with Davies from Everton, Liverpool. My 2xgreat aunt Mary Ellen Cropper married Richard Davies in Liverpool in 1880. By 1891 the couple had at least 4 children, Mary Ellen Davies born about 1882, Richard jnr born about 1883, Harry (Henry) born about 1886 and Annie born about 1890. In 1901 the parents don't show up at all although there is a death recorded for Richard Davies of the right age. 1901 shows Mary Ellen jnr had married Frank E Taylor and the couple were living with Mary Ellen's 3 brothers, Richard, Henry and Jack. No sign of Annie either. I have another Davies family (no connection as yet). Emma Davies born about 1853 in Liverpool married James Stephen Maybury in 1877. James sister Ellen Maybury married John Cropper. Does anyone connect with these families. Regards Syl - UK

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Davies Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HNR.2ACEB/1345 Message Board Post: RE: The Marshallite, 1929 John Marshall High School yearbook (Richmond, VA) Davies, Landow This yearbook lists the members of the Senior class of 1929, faculty members, members of the Corps of Cadets, and many members of various clubs (not all). Unfortunately, it does not list the names of the members of the Junior, Sophomore or Freshmen classes (only officers listed for those classes). I extracted all of the names (& some other information) from the yearbook & have put them on my genealogy web site (total of 13 web pages, containing over 1,900 records; sorted alphabetically by surname). The link to the first page of these extracts on my web site is: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sassytazzy/family/research/1929marshallite/1929marshallite1.html Or it can be accessed through the "General Research" link on the main page at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sassytazzy/index.html Please note that I put all kinds of genealogy information on my web site, not just data about the families I am researching. I hope the information I've put online helps someone with their research . . . Susan :) Sassytazzy's Online Genealogy Research Library http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~sassytazzy/index.html

Surnames: Evans, Davies Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.co.uk/mbexec/msg/5538/HNR.2ACEB/1343 Message Board Post: (I posted this on the Evans board but I thought I'd post it here as well if anyone can help.) I need help tracing the ancestry of my daughters great grandmother (my husbands grandmother.) I know she was born in Bridgend, Glamorgan, Wales in December 1909. Her parents were Thomas Evans (whose occupation was a collier?) and Annie Mary Evans (nee Davies). I have her (Margarets) birth certificate but since it doesn't give a date of birth for her parents and the latest accessible census is 1901 I'm stuck. Any help (either info on her or ideas as to how to access more info on her) will be very much appreciated.
