It was too good to be true...all I was thinking was "oh, good, a Samuel Davies with a connection to Altrincham, and his father's name is John!" :) I'm looking for a Samuel Davies who would have a connection to Altrincham either by birth or by sibling's birth...parents' names John & Elizabeth Davies. John was a tailor. Samuel was a jeweller & watch repairman in Preston later on (probably in and around 1930's) and then moved to Rawtenstall...eventually married a "Fallon" lass. thanks anyways, carrie

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HNR.2ACEB/1358.1.1 Message Board Post: Christy, My Catherine Louise (Davies) Good was my Great Grandmother. I have a copy of her death certificate which states: death 31 July 1942 Baltimore, MD birth 11 Jan 1860, Dauphin Co., PA father's name: John Davies b. Dauphin Co., PA mother's name: can't read? Buried: ?Gallayeu? 3 Aug 1942 Unfortunately, all I know is that she married my Great Grandfather John Henry Good 24 Feb 1877, according to my late grandmother. I believe they were married in PA because the first census record I found after their marriage is in New Market, York, PA 1880 showing John H. Good, wife "Kate" and daughter Stella. Stella was their oldest child b. PA. They had 3 other children b. PA (Lucy, Floyd and William) The rest of their children were born in MD (Helen, Raymond, David, Guy, Eunice (my grandmother), Charles Francis, ?Bessie? and Elsie. I wish I would have asked my grandmother more questions before she passed away but I wasn't thinking about genealogy at the time. Does any of this fit your Catherine Louise Davies?
