Surnames: Davies Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HNR.2ACEB/1203 Message Board Post: My great grandfather Benjamin Davies was born in ca. 1855 in Fishguard (or Llanychaer), but moved to Llanelli (Llanelly) sometime in the early 1870s. There he met Elizabeth Griffiths. They married in the fourth (December) quarter of 1876. It is very likely that they married at Caersalem Baptist Chapel. I am trying to locate the marriage certificate (which may also give Benjamin's exact date of birth). If anyone can advise me where I might obtain this, I would be very grateful. Benjamin and Elizabeth had five children: Elizabeth - married John Stephens Sarah Margaret (Maggie) - married John Griffiths Lilian Jane - married David Thomas Davies (1897-1949) William Thomas (Tom) - married Nancy Badger Gwilym R - married Mary Ann ? Lilian Jane (9.11.1887 - 18.2.1952) was my grandmother.
