Hi, Mary! John Davidson, the son of Richard who died in 1773, and Mary Ewing who moved her family to Fayette County, KY, was my ancestor. Marriage records show that John married Eleanor Ewing in 1778. His son, whom he named Richard, became a surgeon and married the daughter of a prominent New Yorker. Richard's father-in-law left an enormous collection of letters and writings that are in the New York Historical Society. The letters indicate John and Eleanor were still alive and well in 1828. I don't think this John Davidson was ever married to Susanah Jackson. Regards, Kerry Davidson
